How the peg system works
Pick the number you need to remember and break it into 2, 3, or 4 digit chunks when possible.
Use the digit-to-sound rules below. Vowels can be inserted anywhere, so the same number can produce many words.
Prefer one strong image over several weak ones. For example, a single word for `1492` is usually easier than three shorter words.
For pi `3.1415926535`, one suggestion is `amateur tulip angel male`. Picture a tiny boy angel standing in a tulip, desperately practicing for a pie juggling contest for himself, not for pay. Remember that silly scene, and now you can recall 11 digits of pi.
